AIEEE leak create issues

Today there is AFMC exam also and thousands of students who opted for both AIEEE and AFMC exam will now have to forgo one of this exam for no fault of theirs. Is any body listening to their woes

MHRD messes up once again

In yet another case of mess up by MHRD. hon'ble  HRD minister who is better known for reforms which have resulted in more chaos in India then actually bringing about the requisite changes. After Last year IIT JEE fiasco, CCE, RTA and this year AIEEE also messed up. It is time to outsource it to some body else who can conduct the exam in the more professional and transparent way while  the MHRD officials sit in their ivory towers on the tax payers money. Right from education, aviation, health care, railways, CW games  every where the govt has proved its incompetency. We never had such consistent track records of mess ups in India before that. All credit goes to Govt.

AIEEE Leaked

The All India Engineering Entrance Examination question paper has been leaked following which the exam was delayed by three hours on Sunday.
The examination which was scheduled for 9:30 am on Sunday will now begin at 12:30 pm. Sources say that the question paper was being sold in the open market in Lucknow.
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force has arrested one person in connection with the paper leak and are looking for further leads in the case.
This incident puts question mark on the credibility of CBSE , This also raises serious concerns about the modusoperandi of CBSE. People responsible behind this including CBSE officials should be put behind the bar. We also would to hear our erst while education Minister Mr Kapil sibal, a reform Champion , what he has to say about this.
send your mail to glmittal.cbse@nic.in,Pitams.cbse@nic.in,secy-cbse@nic.in, how do you fee about paper being leaked
you can also write to our HRD minister who is very busy with reforms on kapilsibal@hotmail.com;kapil@kapilsibal.com;ksibal@sansad.nic.in

Credibility Erosion of Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan

This is a matter of great shame what has come to notice in the last 3 days regarding how Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan conducts its examination and how the copy checking happens.
It is ironical despite all this nothing has been done to punish the Board officials.
Last time i wrote about practical examination where Board examiner charge any thing between Rs 200 to 300 from the students for giving marks in the practicals.
it seems nothing seems to be done about the same. Our in capability to take decisive action against culprits have eroded the credibility of the RBSE.

one more non transparent exam STSE

I have written mail to secretary Board of Secondary Education to  secy-boser-rj@nic.in

Board of secondary Education, Rajasthan  has conducted the Science talent search examination on 28 Nov 2010This exam is conducted to identify the talents in students. however the very purpose is defeated because the papers to the students are not given. Any competitive examination whether IIT JEE, NTSE, KVPY papers are given to students to increase the credibility of the exam. Your Board web site is also poorly managed and does not provide any information on STSE.

This non transparent policy of the board raises eyebrows and brings entire board in to suspicion. Please take adequate measures to restore transparency in the exam. I am listing few of the measures
1. Papers must be given to students
2. With in 7 days you should declare the official answer key and at the same invite feedback
3. Result should be declared stating students marks and rank
4. Students should be allowed to access the ORS on demand basis

kota once again misses the bus of AIEEE

CBSE has left kota for the fourth time from AIEEE centres list. In a reply to RTI query the CBSE has cited the administrative reasons for keeping Kota out of AIEEE centers list. First appellate office Mr Pritam Singh has not replied to the first appeal filled by the undersigned almost two months back. IIT JEE centres is also not given to students since last 4 years. IITs have not even responded to RTIs filled by citizens of kota

kota centre for IIT JEE

Our Hon'ble MP from Kota Constituency Shri Ijyaraj Singh has raised the question in Lok Sabha about kota not given examination centre for IIT JEE few days back. The timings of this question is very strange. It's been three years since Kota has been dropped from the JEE centres list but all these 3 years our leaders were too busy to pay attention to such trivial issues of kota. Morever this question is raised after JEE declared its notification on 30 Oct and Kota once again in not there in JEE centres list so nothing can be done. The question was raised at such a time when nothing can be done or this was deliberate attempt from the MP to do pump and show to please his alakman in Delhi. Our economy runs because of coaching and how much our leaders are concerned that kota should get is legitimate rights of having its centres at least. When we were doing the RTI movement a month back surprisingly no leader came forward and supported the mission which could have been successful in bringing JEE centre to kota

use of plastic bags in Dusheera Mela

Our leaders don't follow what they preach to citizens
Kota Mayor is very vocal against uses of plastic bags
I was very impressed with her drive for banning of plastic bags
please refer to her blog also
But i was dismayed when i visited Dusherra Mela, every shop keeper over there was using plastic bags, despite Nagar Nigam responsible for the conduction of the mela
Is it not hypocrisy to preach before we practice ourselves
My e mail to Mayor and kota collector has not been answered till now
For a shop kepper our city administration would have been very quick to lodge the complain but what about action against this leader who should be held responsible for such  wide spread use of plastic

Fw: welcome gates causes accidents

These days our political leaders of Kota ( Rajasthan) have put the welcome gates in kota city to welcome their political masters
These gates disturb the traffic. i am attaching the snaps on one road where in less than 50 meters distance around 10 gates have been put up. There seems to be tough competition for sycophancy in our leaders. I fail to understand why police don't register FIR against culprits. This is a big nuisance. These all gates have been put up by sycophants of State Home Minister who want to please the minister.

JEE Scam: Despite Warning, Institute Ruled Out Probe Into Bungling In JEE

IT-Kgp ignored CVC advice way back in '07
2006 JEE Scam: Despite Warning, Institute Ruled Out Probe Into Bungling In JEE
Akshay Mukul, TNN, October 28, 2010
NEW DELHIThough the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had forwarded allegations about malpractices in JEE-2006 to Damodar Acharya, director of IIT-Kharagpur, way back in 2007, the institute did not feel the need to order a probe. Instead, IIT Kharagpur told the HRD ministry that "as per conduct rule of the institute no employee is permitted to publish any article anonymously or in the name of any other person to any newspaper or periodical."

now access the papers of NET through RTI

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research. The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science.
Now you can access the papers of NET by putting up RTI to UGC. Though UGC have put the few papers on its web site, but you can ask for papers along with the answer key of every year which is not available on NET. I have recently did it for Law Code 58

Biggest RTI campaign of India

Kota is well known coaching hub but since last three years it has been given a step motherly treatment by our policy makers. It is well known facts that thousand of students come here for the preparation of IIT JEE and AIEEE. Till year 2007 Kota was the center of these two prestigious examinations, however suddenly our policy makers decided to remove it with out any apparent reasons. This harsh and foolish decision has made the life of thousands of students miserable because of the financial burden, emotional disturbance, and concentration implications when students move from one place to another place for appearing in the exam.

kota was not there in centres list of IIT JEE & AIEE. Why?

Kota is well know coaching hub but since last two years it has been given a step motherly treatment by our policy makers. It is well known facts that thousand of students come here for the preparation of IIT JEE and AIEEE. Till 2008 Kota was the center of these two prestigious examination, however suddenly our policy makers decided to remove it with out any apparent reasons. Ajmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Jaipur were the centers where as kota was not the centre. The number of aspirant from kota are more than sum total of all other centres of Rajasthan. It seems the policy makers are more interested in fulfilling the vested interests of their political masters which leaves not time to think about the citizens. My RTI applications to MHRD and to Organizing Chairman of JEE 2010 of IIT Madras has not been answered at all. MHRD and IITs does not understand the simple mathematics , that's why they are not able to calculate financial and other losses incurred by such stupid decision. May be it is time to send MHRD officials and IIT prof back to school to learn simple arithmetic.

As a citizen of kota i would like to appeal all of you to come forward and ask the decision makers the rationale behind such decision.

HT : IIT-Kharagpur quota for staff

Hindustan Times :: 27 July 2010
IIT-Kharagpur kept aside illegal quota for staff
Charu Sudan Kasturi, Hindustan Times
New Delhi, July 26, 2010
The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur was secretly — and illegally — keeping aside a discretionary admission quota for children of its teachers and staff for over four decades, admitting dozens of students to seats they failed to secure through the IIT-Joint Entrance Examination.
Documents accessed by HT using the RTI Act show the country’s oldest IIT — started in 1951 — blocked 25 per cent of its seats in popular five-year integrated science courses (up to M.Sc level) for handpicked nominees, even as students from the rest of India had to clear the IIT-JEE for admission.
IIT wards merely needed 60 per cent marks in their Class XII Board examination and should have appeared in the IIT-JEE to be eligible for the quota seats, doled out at the institute director’s discretion. Between 2003 and 2005, those who got in through this illegal quota didn’t even need to appear for the entrance exam. The secret quota was suspended in 2005, the year the RTI Act was launched, and was abandoned in 2006 under pressure from the Joint Admission Board of all IITs, which organises entrance examination.
“This was the most shameful chapter in the history of the IITs. I tried convincing colleagues to end the quota, but failed,” said a former IIT Kharagpur director who was in charge for several years when the quota was in place.
The IIT admitted 88 students through the secret quota between 1998 and 2005, including 50 in 2003 and 2004, documents reveal. The quota was never disclosed in admission brochures — unlike all other reservations for backward communities that the IITs have.
The beneficiaries of the secret quota include the children of Madhusudan Chakraborty, now the Director of IIT Bhubaneswar and VK Tewari, the organising chairman of the IIT-JEE in 2006. Chakraborty, who has also been deputy director of IIT Kharagpur, confirmed the discretionary quota to HT but argued: “Not only my son, the sons and daughters of many others in the faculty were also admitted through this quota.”
The IIT has not disclosed exactly when the quota was started, but minutes of an August 16, 1988 board of governors meeting reveal that the quota existed even before the IIT-JEE was started in the mid-1960s.
